Part 1: Safety notice 1. Before starting to use the rotary evaporator, please read the attached operation manual carefully and be familiar with the operation and performance of the instrument. 2. Please ensure that the input voltage of the instrument is consistent with the voltage indicated on the instrument nameplate. 3. Pay attention to whether the safe temperature of the heating pot is reasonable before starting up. The safe temperature of the heating pot should be at least 25 degrees lower than the ignition point of the treated medium. 4. Do not operate the instrument in an explosive environment or underwater. 5. To prevent pressure buildup, the glass component should be ventilated while operating under normal pressure.
Part 2: Proper use of heating and cooling media 1. If the temperature of the heating pot is higher than 80 ℃, 50mpas silicone oil is recommended as the heating medium, and deionized water is recommended as the heating medium within 80 ℃. 2. Pour 2/3 volume of deionized water or silicone oil (about 2L) into the pan, making sure that the heating medium in the pan is sufficient to soak 2/3 of the evaporation bottle. 3. When the setting temperature of the cooling circulation system is lower than 0 ℃, the cooling fluid cannot be directly used for water. It is recommended to buy bath liquid or self-made bath liquid, such as water and glycol volume preparation. 4. Turn on the heating pot and cooling circulation 30 minutes in advance. 5. Maintain a temperature difference of 50 ℃ between the cooling temperature and the heating pot temperature to ensure good cooling efficiency.
Part 3: Prepare for rotary evaporator 1. The amount of distillation should not exceed half of the volume of the evaporation bottle. 2. The glass evaporator cannot heat only one side. During the heating stage, the evaporation bottle should be opened and rotated to avoid boiling. 3. The drop terminal is preset according to the actual size of the rotating bottle. 4. Make sure the vent valve is closed. 5. Connect and fix the evaporation bottle with clamps, and when heating and cooling reach the set temperature, start the vacuum pump and start distillation.
Part 4: Daily maintenance and cleaning 1. Heating bath: choose deionized water or low viscosity clean silicone oil, replace weekly. 2. Glass components: glass grinding joints are cleaned weekly with ethanol and coated with vacuum silicone grease. 3. Sealing ring: it is recommended to check the wear of the sealing ring every quarter (judged by the vacuum value). 4. Host: keep shell and panel dry. 5. Cleaning: please disconnect the power supply when cleaning and maintaining the instrument. Use a detergent containing surfactant or isopropanol to clean inert stains.
