Jacketed glass reactor(or double-layered glass reactor) belongs to the

in which physical or chemical reactions happened under different conditions.

Glass reactor, especially double

jacketed glass reactor

is mostly used in many laboratory experiments because pyrex reactor made of high borosilicate glass can stand high temperature, and the transparency property of 20l glass reactor makes the whole reacting process visible; Carbon steel reactor can only be used in the corrosion-free environment, like the production of oil products;
Stainless steel reactor is widely used for many high-temperature and high-pressure chemical reactions;
Steel lining PE reactor can be used for reacting of acid, alkali, salt, and most alcohol-containing liquid;

Glass reactor can be classified as a single-layered glass reactor, jacket glass reactor(or double-layered glass reactor) and triple-layered glass reactor regarding the layers of glass kettle. For single-layered glass reactor, the heating bath is outside the kettle; For jacketed glass reactor, the heating layer of 20l glass reactor is on the outer layer of the kettle, which saves place and keeps a well-sealed reacting environment; For triple-layered glass reactors, the outer 3rd layer is vacuum layer, which allows the reaction with a higher or lower temperature than the
double jacketed glass reactor
can stand. Among these 3 types, jacketed glass reactor is the most widely used and popular in the laboratory.

In jacketed glass reactors, the liquid materials in the inner glass kettle of 20l glass reactor were stirred by the stirring paddle thoroughly and constantly heated/cooled by the jacketed-layer heated/cooling media at the set temperature and stirring speed, then evaporated through the condenser to the receiving flask. The reacted materials can be discharged through the discharge valve.
