Common configuration and precautions of rotary vacuum distiller

Heating water bath: the general heating medium is clean water. If there is a special need for temperature, you can replace it with silicone oil or high temperature silicone oil! Although the manufacturer will cover the top of the water bath pot, the use frequency is not high in the process; Static time, can prevent dust into the water bath or oil bath, keep the water bath or oil bath clean.


Condenser: The general cooling medium is water. If the ambient temperature is high and the condensation effect is poor, it can be replaced by an ethanol bath with a circulating refrigerator. The cooled ethanol was pressed into the condenser for cooling treatment.

In extremely cold weather, when the condenser is not in use, it is necessary to drain all the water in the condenser overnight to prevent the water from forming into solid, volume expansion, and dilatation of the condenser. Pressure relief equipment: usually configured as a water circulation vacuum pump. Some high boiling point solvent, the water circulation vacuum pump can be replaced for the oil pump, pay attention to the requirements of the equipment when replacing.

Use of rotary vacuum distiller technique

Experience in the use of rotary vacuum distiller. The above situation is always hard to avoid,  if the spin steam to keep clean, so the formation of oil and water mixture, or liquid solid mixture, can be filtered, concentrated refined column separation, and other means, get their target products. If it’s not clean, just wait till you cry!

Usage: The rotating steam bottle is basically fixed. The oil bath height is lifted by the iron frame to adjust the contact between the oil bath and the rotating steam bottle. When feeding, it is different from pouring directly into the rotating steam bottle in the laboratory and inhaling the rotating reaction liquid through the feeding valve.

Precautions for use of rotary vacuum distiller

Add distilled water in the water bath pot to avoid limescale. There is no electricity without water in the water bath. Avoid organic solvent contamination on the instrument surface. If the vacuum degree is less than 0.08mpa, the sealing ring should be replaced in time to avoid damage to the machine. A rectified swivel bottle must be used, otherwise, the glass liner will be damaged.
